I almost quit my business…

In September, it will be my 10th anniversary of working online and last month I seriously considered quitting my business. I’ll get into the why in a moment, but the reality is as a business owner these thoughts happen all the time. ALL THE TIME and if you don’t experience self-doubt, frustration and even some anger when you’re building your business then I believe you’re doing something wrong. My reason for thinking of quitting… I disappointed a client in a way that hit me to my core. It is someone I respect and admire. I’m so excited to see the strides she’s made in the recent months, yet I dropped the ball for her and we’re no longer working together. Do you suffer from Entrepreneur Fatigue Syndrome?

Today it happened.  I hit a wall, I was doing so many things to keep moving in my business… answering emails, following up with clients, writing a blog post, coaching clients in my Awesome Business Community, pulling together some training, planning for my upcoming signature program in the fall and on and on…. If you’re a solo business owner, I’m sure you can related to everything that needs to get done in your business and for many of us we want to be everything in our business.  You know, the assistant, the techie, the receptionist, the CEO, the Marketing Department etc… then it happens – it just doesn’t seem possible that you could do any more. Having a Backup Plan in Place….

For those of you who know me, or follow me on Facebook or Twitter may have seen a few updates in the past few weeks regarding my personal challenges.  My father passed away (though not unexpected it was quicker than we thought) February 5, 2011.  This event of course turned my focus from work and serving my clients to family. Business at Redhead Business Solutions slowed to a crawl, client work stalled and the bare minimum tasks were handled, personal projects stopped, new client calls postponed.  My thoughts, focus nor brain function was anywhere near my business or what needed to be done for my clients.  Now that I’m back at it this week, this got me wondering what type of back up plan do I have in place should something happen to me, who could step in and take over my projects?  How would they know what to do? …
