Rick and I spent the last week of September and the first part of October on the West Coast, visiting family and friends.
I barely touched my computer the whole time. It was glorious.
With the daily pile out of the way, I finally had room to think, and one question kept coming back. Where do I actually want this to go?
I’m good at a lot of this. Tech and systems, and building a product that runs. Somewhere on that trip I realized that a good share of what I’ve built, I built because I could. It was the next logical task and I knew I’d do it well, so I did.
Being good at something isn’t the same as being fed by it.
What I need now is to make money in a way that feeds my creativity. As cheesy as that sounds, it’s true.
What I’m putting down
Four of my products are on their way out. The Decision Pile and The No-Hire Assistant, then The Life Happens Plan and Your Tech Simplified. They did what I built them to do. They’re just not what I want to spend my days on anymore.
I wrote more about the business that paid well and was still the wrong one.
What I’m making room for
Rick and I tested a plan back in 2024, and now I know what is possible. So the work is making the improvements and fixing the things we thought would work.
I signed up for a poetry course too. I haven’t started it yet, but I’m looking forward to it.
I will tell you more about where this is going soon.
For now, I’m curious about you. What are you good at that doesn’t feed you anymore?
Life first. Work optional. It’s your business, your energy and your rules.
